Quick answer: Two to three days. One day is enough for a taste, but staying at least one night lets you catch a calm morning sea and sunset at Devil's Tears. Add days for diving, surfing or a Penida trip.
Lembongan is small, so you don't need long. But the best things happen at particular times: calm seas in the morning, low tide for the seaweed farms, high tide for the mangroves, and sunset at Devil's Tears. Two or three days lets you catch them all. Check a tide table, then shuffle these plans to fit.
One day
- Morning: early boat from Sanur, then a snorkel trip from Jungutbatu to Mangrove Point and the nearby reefs.
- Afternoon: cross the Yellow Bridge to Ceningan and the Blue Lagoon viewpoint.
- Sunset: Devil's Tears, then dinner, and the last boat back only if you have to.
Two days
- Day 1: arrive in the morning, swim at Dream Beach or Sandy Bay if the sea is flat, Devil's Tears for sunset.
- Day 2: morning manta trip to Penida, afternoon at the seaweed farms (at low tide) or the mangroves (at high tide), then Ceningan.
Three days
- Day 1: arrive, settle in, west coast coves, Devil's Tears at sunset.
- Day 2: mantas and snorkelling in the morning, Ceningan and the Blue Lagoon in the afternoon.
- Day 3: sunrise at Jungutbatu with Mount Agung across the strait, mangrove trip at high tide, the underground house at Gala-Gala, slow afternoon.
Four days or more
Add a day trip to Nusa Penida, a dive course, or a few surf sessions in the dry season. And keep a spare day before an international flight, in case a crossing is cancelled.
Questions
Is one day enough for Nusa Lembongan?
It's enough for a taste: a morning snorkel trip, the Yellow Bridge and Devil's Tears. But you spend a lot of the day on boats, so two nights is much more relaxed.
How many days do you need on Nusa Lembongan?
Two to three days covers the highlights without rushing. Add more if you want to dive, surf or do a day on Nusa Penida.
Can you do Lembongan as a day trip from Bali?
Yes, many tours do, but you only get a few hours on the island. Staying at least one night lets you see sunset at Devil's Tears and an early, calm sea.
